Lectures on the history of Bermudian sport, the history of Bermuda?s education, social and political change, the history of Bermudian arts and entertainment, and the history of building arts are all in the works for 2005.

The lectures will come as part of the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs Historical Heartbeats lecture series, Minister Dale Butler announced in a Ministerial statement in the House of Assembly on Friday.

?The next phase of the series,? he said, ?will see us working with universities overseas to assist us in providing lectures on the relationships between Bermudian history and that of the West Indies, Africa and Portugal.

?The third phase will include, pending discussions with the Bermuda College, local courses on these histories.?

The Historical Heartbeats lecture series was launched in March.
