Parking costs set to rise
City motorists will soon have to pay more to park in the street in Hamilton.
From September, the cost of an hour?s parking using pay and display vouchers will go up from 75 cents to $1 an hour.
The street parking rise was confirmed in a Government notice placed in the media on Friday.
Geoffrey Bell, Corporation of Hamilton treasurer, said that people would still be able to use up remaining 75 cent vouchers after September 1. He stated: ?The public is advised that any 75 cent street parking vouchers already in their possession before September 1 will be valid after September 1 until they are all used up.?
Voucher parking in Hamilton includes sections of the following streets: Front Street; Reid Street; Church Street; Victoria Street; Par-La-Ville Road; Wesley Street; Washington Street; Cedar Avenue; Parliament Street and Court Street.
Rosebank Road, Bermudiana Road, Point Pleasant Road, Queen Street and Burnaby Street are also included in the voucher parking area.
