Party crasher injures host
An uninvited party guest literary crashed a Smith's Parish get together on Thursday night, leaving one reveller in hospital with a head injury.
The private party was being held by a family living on St. Mark's Road at a field which is at the back of their home. At some time during the event an uninvited man arrived and attempted to socialise with the other guests.
Once he was noticed, the intruder was asked to leave by the host, prompting an angry response from the man.
A punch was thrown at the host, and the situation swiftly escalated with the man picking up empty bottles and throwing them into the crowd of party-goers.
He then left only to return later accompanied by a couple of friends all of whom were now brandishing weapons. The gang hid in trees just outside the venue until they spotted the complainant leaving on a cycle. Objects were thrown and the complainant was hit on the head. he was later taken by ambulance to the King Edward VII memorial hospital where he was treated for a gash on his head.
Police report that they are actively investigating the case.
