Coco Reefs Resort in Paget has submitted plans to the Planning Department to add 31 guest units to the property.

The former Stonington Beach Hotel is hoping to add upmarket two-bedroom suites if the plans are approved, said principal architect John Gardner of Cooper and Gardner.

"It will be constructed on the southwest corner of the site and is designed to avoid areas of protection," said Mr. Gardner.

Adding the two-bedroom suits will help to make the hotel more profitable and the facilities will "enhance" the building, he said.

"The units will be vastly superior to what is already there."
