Police promote three
Police announced the promotion of three officers from the rank of Constable to Sergeant this week.
Father of one, Corey Cross, who joined the Bermuda Police Service in 1994, has worked in Eastern Uniform, Central Uniform, Task Force, Central CID, Vehicle Crime Unit and the Serious Crime Unit.
He will be transferring to Western Uniform early next month as a Watch Sergeant.
Christian Wheddon, 34, is being promoted after almost seven years in the BPS. After serving in the British Territorial Army, he graduated from Police training school and was posted to Western Division where he did attachments to Task Force and as the Field Intelligence Officer.
He has also been posted in the Technology Department, Intelligence Division, Central Uniform and Commercial Crime Unit. He currently is serving as Sergeant in the Information Management and Technology Department.
Sgt. Wheddon is also a member of the Underwater Search and Recovery Team and conducts computer forensic examinations.
Hashim Estwick joined the BPS in July, 1988 after being recruited from the Royal Barbados Police Service.
As well as working in uniform patrol for two and a half years, he has served in the Task Force, Western CID, Central CID, Narcotics Department and Operational Policing Division.
He is an active member of the Bermuda Police Association and has been on several courses, including a Narcotics Investigators Course, Appraisal Training and personal fitness training.
