Premier?s approval rating slips further

Premier Alex Scott?s approval ratings have dipped for the third time in nearly six months, new poll results reveal today.

But the number of people unsure whether the PLP leader is doing a good job as Premier has more than doubled since the last political survey was taken.

Voters were asked whether they approved or disapproved of the way Mr. Scott was handling the top job.

A total of 34 per cent of those polled said they approved. Some 40 per cent, down from 49 per cent two months earlier, said they did not approve of the way the Premier was doing his job.

Nearly a quarter (24 per cent) said they were not sure, up from eleven per cent when the last poll was carried out in July ? raising the possibility the number floating voters might be growing ahead of the next election.

In July, 38 per cent of voters questioned said they were happy with Mr. Scott?s leadership, compared to 40 per cent in May and 34 per cent in March.

Those unhappy with the Premier?s work stood at 49 per cent in July, 42 per cent in May and 52 per cent in March.

The results are revealed in the latest Research Innovation poll for , conducted between September 14 and 17.

The margin of error is 4.9 per cent.
