Berkeley Institute faculty cancelled the dress dance rehearsal of the prom last night at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel because of what deputy principal Carlos Simons described as ?inappropriate behaviour? by students.
Students and parents stood outside Berkeley yesterday to await report cards. One parent was upset and said that if the prom was cancelled or if her daughter did not graduate she would have wasted a lot of money on a white dress.
According to reports given to alcohol-influenced behaviour was involved in the decision to cancel the rehearsal.
Mr. Simons said that the students had been ?acting up? and believed that it would not happen again.
The prom will be held on June 29 at the hotel.
