BERMUDA has now lost another expatriate for his crime of writing a personal e-mail to a friend. I too have been abused by Bermudians, who really feel that they own the streets and the island.

They will verbally and/or physically abuse anyone who dares to confront them about anything even if they are blatantly in the wrong

Try asking some Bermudians (by no means all - but the type who are routinely double parked along our busy roads) to please move and see how they react it definitely is not pretty.

It appears Mr. O'Brien asked the Bermudian in question to move his car, which was blocking the entrance to Ariel Sands and Mr. O'Brien was called a white b***** and white m*********.er. How appalling!

The creep who made this statement should be charged with racist remarks, but of course that would never happen, as this Government just isn't interested in abuse perpetrated on expatriates. In fact, I really think that they encourage this sort of treatment.

Is this the New Bermuda? Is this what we all have to look forward to in the future here?

Are people going to be intimidated and terrorised on a daily basis? What happened to freedom of speech? What happened to a person's privacy?

I too have written e-mails to friends about the horrible situation here in Bermuda, where most people are terrified to speak out and are intimidated on a daily basis. This isn't a crime I am entitled to my opinion.

This Government and country is on extremely dangerous ground and I am sure the world press will be watching with interest.
