Punchups land two in KEMH
Police had to deal with two punch-ups over the weekend which put two men in hospital.
In the early hours of Saturday Police were called to Captain's Lounge in Reid Street after two men were attacked by a gang of five or six men after one of the men bumped into someone and an argument broke out.
When a bouncer tried to stop one man joining in the attack he was punched in the face.
A 32-year-old Southampton man suffered minor injuries while his friend spent two nights in hospital after the gang punched and kicked them.
On Saturday afternoon a man needed hospital treatment after being hit several times in the face with a pool cue after he attempted to break up fight between two men at Devonshire Recreational Club.
One of the combatants turned on the 35-year-old victim from Pembroke. Police have since arrested a 28-year-old Pembroke man.
