Putting their feet down for charity

This year's End-to-End walk raised more than $160,000 dollars for five charities and attracted 1,375 walkers, riders and paddlers.

The Family Learning Centre, The St. George's Foundation, The Reading Clinic, St. John's Ambulance and The Physical Abuse Centre were this week given their $36,000 cheques at City Hall.

The Bank of Bermuda Foundation's Youth Invasion Award was presented to Berkeley Institute who had 55 participants. Ms Karen Madeiros from the Bank of Bermuda Foundation presented Berkeley with a cheque for $500.

Ms Madeiros also presented the End-to-End committee with a cheque for $10,000 to match the funds raised by the Youth Invasion participants. There were a total of 238 youth participating raising over $17,000 with representation from 15 schools. The Team Spirit Award was presented to the Visitor Industry Partnership team.

Stacy Evans accepted the award on behalf of the team.

The top four money earners were Miranda Mello, Douglas Frith, Jennifer Lapsley and Vernee Simmons.

They all received a $400 voucher from co-sponsor Mobility and a grocery voucher from Lindo's.

Sharon Leman from Mobility presented the Mobility vouchers and Georgio Zanol from Lindo's presented the grocery vouchers.

The top money raiser, Miranda Mello, also received a travel voucher.
