Rude reception
A man received a rude reception after accepting an invitation to a Pembroke property.
The 48-year-old was robbed of a bottle of rum and tobacco after entering the Seagull Lane home on Sunday at 2.30 p.m.
The victim reported the robbery to Police later the same afternoon and said he had been invited to the residence by a person whom he knew but once inside he found two other men and, after a short time, they joined with the first man in becoming aggressive and demanding money.
The trio took from the Pembroke man a bottle of Cockspur rum, some tobacco and cigarette papers before allowing the victim to leave. The victim had no apparent injuries.
Police are now investigating.
During the weekend Police were kept busy with 15 break-ins, 29 road accidents of which 13 resulted in injury. Six men also failed an alco-analyser test after being suspected of impaired driving, while a woman stopped for suspected impaired driving refused to take the alco-analyser test.
Assault at restaurant
A 24-year-old man who was dancing at Henry VIII Restaurant and Bar in Southampton in the early hours yesterday was punched in the face by another man who fled the scene on foot.
The alleged assailant is believed to be 5ft, white and with sideburns. He was wearing a black or red jacket. The incident occurred around 12.35 a.m. Police are investigating.
