The St. George's Town Crier announced an upcoming Boat Light Parade in the Old Town in July.

E. Michael Jones said the parade was scheduled to take place on July 19 at 9.30 p.m. when it is dark.

"I would like to invite all boat owners to take part in the parade," said Mr. Jones.

"The MarketPlace is the Boat Parade's key sponsor and they are going to bring in white Christmas lights for people who don't have them already."

Mr. Jones said there would be raffles, prizes for boat owners, festivities, bands, other live entertainment, a candlelighting show and hopefully if they can find a sponsor, fireworks.

"The candlelighting show is being sponsored by the Lions and Lioness Clubs around the Island and they will be raising money for the charity and for the candles," said the St. George's Town Crier.

"We are trying to find a sponsor for the fireworks and I hope that we can, as I would like to end the event with a display."
