St. George's to celebrate the end of summer tonight

With a performance from The Doc Simons Revue scheduled for tonight, St. George's will be holding its last Market Night of the season starting at 7 p.m.

With hundreds of people attending the event throughout the summer, tonight's festivities will also include the Town Crier dunking a drowning wench, several draws for prizes, and the usual selling of locally-made merchandise.

While promising that Market Nights will run again next year, Diana Amos, of the St. George's Market Group said: “We felt very encouraged this year. It will be ending on a very positive note.”

She also said that, along with current vendors wanting to participate again next year, organisers have had several requests from new ones who are eager to participate.

The major sponsors of Market Night were Telebermuda International and Somers Supermarket Ltd.

In the event of rain, Market Night will be held on Thursday, October 3.
