Taxi reminder for holiday revellers
Party goers are reminded over the holiday season to avoid getting unruly if they want to catch a taxi after a late night event.
Bermuda Taxi Operators Association spokesman Lee Tucker said taxis would be operating as usual over Christmas, but would use their discretion when picking up rowdy and awkward passengers.
In order to help transportation run more smoothly people who need taxis are advised to contact the dispatch company and let them know if there is a departure and pick-up time for a particular event.
?We?re asking people to be patient, to make arrangements and to call early in the day and let the operators know your plans. Hotels are also advised to call early to let the dispatcher know if there is a single large departure and pick-up at one time,? said Mr. Tucker.
Even if you want to ring in the holiday season with a glass of champagne it may be wise to keep a close eye on how many glasses you consume since throwing up in a taxi cab requires the passenger to pay for the clean-up.
Taxi transportation over holidays costs passengers 25 percent more with additional charges after 12 a.m. Passengers are also advised to carry $20 notes which are easier to change as cabbies do not carry a large cash float late at night.
