A 17-year-old cyclist was in hospital last night with serious injuries after colliding with a wooden fence or railing on North Shore Road near the junction with Jennings Road at around 4.50 p.m. yesterday, Police said last night.

Police said details about the ?serious single vehicle road traffic collision? were still unclear and appealed for witnesses to call 295-0011.

It said the boy was riding an auxiliary cycle. Roads in the area were closed for a short while because of the accident.
