Tourist swims into difficulties

A tourist hit trouble swimming at Warwick Long Bay and was pulled out of the sea by friends, Police said last night.

Paramedics were called to the beach at about 1.35 p.m. yesterday to take the woman, in her 50s, to hospital.

Police said she was bodysurfing in choppy conditions when it appears she was pulled down by an undertow.

?She was there with some people she knew and they pulled her out of the water,? said a spokesman.

?She never lost consciousness and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.?
