Triangle mini-series to air next month
A six-hour mini-series on the Bermuda Triangle is due to hit television screens next month.
Starting on December 5, "The Triangle" will air for three nights on the Sci-Fi Channel and will reach an estimated 80 million homes.
The producers of "Independence Day" and "X-Men 2" are collaborating on the series, in which a billionaire, Eric Benirall, played by Sam Neill, grows weary of constantly losing his ships in the Bermuda Triangle and hires a top notch team to uncover the mystery that many scientists have spent decades trying to unravel.
The team includes a tabloid journalist, an ocean resource engineer, a scientist/adventurer and a psychic.
"When a jetliner disappears over the Triangle, bizarre, unexplainable occurrences begin to affect each member of Benirall's team," a release from the Sc-Fi Network said. "When the government takes an alarming interest in their work, our crew is drawn into something far more dangerous than they had believed possible. A research expedition with the promise of riches soon becomes a frantic, head-turning ride through the unstoppable force that is The Triangle."
The mini series, which also stars Eric Stoltz, Bruce Davison and Catherine Bell, was shot over the summer in Cape Town, South Africa and New York City.
It will air over three nights and has also launched a website, which can be found at http://www.scifi.com/triangle/
