TV bosses probe BBC World cable blackout
Television bosses were last night trying to find out why cable viewers in Bermuda were unable to access the BBC World channel over the weekend.
Anecdotal reports suggested that the station was unavailable on both Saturday and yesterday to viewers. The screen simply stated ?no signal?.
Catrin Thomas, from the BBC World press office, told : ?BBC World has just received notification about disruption to the channel in Bermuda. We?re consulting with our cable and broadcasting partners in the region to clarify the situation. over the weekend.?
A spokeswoman for CableVision said the cause of the problem was not known but that the service would be contacting the BBC first thing today (Monday). Cable provider World on Wireless (WOW) could not be contacted for comment.
