TV repair shop to expand

A retail warehouse and television repair shop in Mills Creek is seeking to expand its business into the Bermuda Glass building on Ewing Street.

The Planning Department has received an application for approval in principle to change the use of the 3,000-square-foot building from light industrial use to light service for TV repairs.

The application was submitted by PJ Warehouse's owner Paul Rawson.

"Mr. Rawson currently operates his business at Four Mills Creek Lane, Pembroke and would like to relocate to this property to better serve his customers by providing more area, better parking and a more convenient location," agent CHB Crisson wrote to the Development Applications Board on Mr. Rawson's behalf.

"No structural changes are contemplated for this change of use."

The letter also stipulated that Corporation of Hamilton have been consulted about the change of use on the property which falls within City boundaries and that meetings have been scheduled with the Fire Prevention Officers and the Bermuda Fire Service about building safety.

The application was submitted on February 4, 2002 and has yet to come before the Development Applications Board for consideration.
