Visitor's bag snatched
A female visitor was dragged along a road by a bag-snatcher in the third such incident in just two days.
Police said the 45-year-old woman and her daughter were walking on St. John?s Road back to their accommodation after a swim at Admiralty House on Tuesday night when a man rode up behind them and grabbed the woman?s beach bag.
As she attempted to hold on, she was dragged to the ground suffering abrasions to her knees, but the rider managed to escape with the bag, Police said.
The suspect was described as a dark skinned male with a sharp jaw line and was said to be wearing a burgundy helmet and a dark coloured jacket. He was riding a dark coloured rental cycle. The beach bag was green with roses on it and contained a digital camera and personal items.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at around 9.05 p.m. near Controversy Lane, to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
