Woman denies theft

A 31-year-old Pembroke woman pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to stealing cheques and fraudulently using them to pay for groceries.

Kylah Symone Stowe from South Terrace allegedly stole cheques belonging to Tiffany McCoy on August 8 this year and then proceeded to forge the cheque to buy groceries from the Market Place in Pembroke on the same day. One cheque totalled $56.

She was released on $1,000 bail with one surety and will return to court on February 28 next year to stand trial.
