All are invited to Anonymous Santa party
A fun anonymous Santa event this Saturday in the Botanical Gardens aims to ensure that no child in Bermuda wakes up on Christmas Day without at least one present to unwrap.
The Salvation Army is asking for adults and children to come along for an afternoon of activities and for as many people as possible to bring an unwrapped new toy that can distributed at Christmas to a child from a less well-off family.
At the same time, anyone who turns up for the Elf & Santa Shuffle in the Gardens can win a prize, including a cell phone and an iPod shuffle, if their festive costume impresses the judges during the one-mile fun run and walk starting at 4 p.m.
Events and activities including Secret Po Po, face painting by Sniggles, and a crafts table, along with food and snacks, will be going on from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Those taking part in the one mile run and walk are asked to come in seasonal costume, although there will also be an opportunity to buy toy antlers to wear at the Gardens.
In a statement, the Salvation Army said: "All are invited to enjoy the festivities and get into the holiday spirit.
"In support of our Anonymous Santa Programme participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy. Your support of the Elf & Santa Shuffle will help make a local child's holiday brighter."
