Breaking news: Missing man found dead
A dead body found at Tobacco Bay today is that of missing British guest worker Martin Molinski, Police confirmed this evening.
The 26-year-old British national, who was last seen by one of his flatmates on Wednesday evening, was discovered by two German tourists exploring the sea in St. George’s at about noon.
Detectives cordoned off the scene at Anchorage Road for about two hours as they conducted their inquiries. It is understand that friends of Mr. Molinski were able to identify his body.
A Police spokesman said tonight: “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 26-year-old Martin Molinski. Mr. Molinski was reported missing on Thursday, March 18.
“The Bermuda Police Service extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
He added: “The body was pronounced dead at the scene by an on-call physician at 1 p.m. on Sunday and subsequently identified as Mr. Molinski. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. An autopsy will be conducted in the near future.”
Mr. Molinski worked at Vinyltech, on Front Street, as a vinyl fabricator and had only been on the Island for about six months.
A Facebook page set up by his family entitled "Find Martin Molinski ASAP" was today flooded with tributes to him.
