CableVision customers may face outages during system changes

Television viewers are warned they could face temporary outages as Bermuda CableVision makes changes to its system today and tomorrow. Bosses say they will be implementing technical upgrades which can pave the way for extra new digital services and improve the overall reliability of the content.

It means the position of the firm’s main dish will be re-aligned — and some machines will temporarily lose power.

Those affected should switch their TV off for a few seconds and then back on again, managers say.

Rollin Nathan, Bermuda CableVision sales manager, said: “We will be implementing some technical upgrades to our plant that are designed to pave the way for the arrival of additional new digital services for our customers, while also increasing the overall reliability of our content.

“During this process, some customers may experience temporary outages. If this should occur, customers need only unplug their terminals, wait 15 seconds and plug the terminal back in again.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause to our valued customers, and we look forward to bringing them new digital services that will be enabled by these system enhancements.”
