The head of the Berkeley Institute maths department now runs the Bermuda Union of Teachers.

Mike Charles, who is the general secretary of BUT, said that Keisha Douglas was the new president and Reeshmah Swan was the new vice-president of the organisation.

Meanwhile, Christopher Swan is the new treasurer.

Lisa Trott was the former president, she chose not to run this year.

More than 130 teachers gathered at Berekeley Institute last night for their Annual General membership meeting.

The election of new leaders takes place every two years.
