Mark Hall, 55, from Spanish Point, Pembroke, was riding his vehicle in the Point Finger Road area of Paget, on Saturday, October 28, at about 12.55 a.m., Magistrates’ Court was told.

Crown counsel Nicole Smith said officers approached Hall after he crashed and questioned him. Ms. Smith told the court: “His eyes were bloodshot and he smelled strongly of intoxicating liquor.

“Officers asked if he had been drinking. He replied ‘yes, a few’. Breath samples were asked for, but he refused. He was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.”

Hall told the court: “My mum was sick so I had a few drinks. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

Hall pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol or a drug. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him and banned him from driving any vehicle for 12 months.
