Man fights off robber
A Hamilton Parish man was attacked by a robber, who broke into his room waving a bladed article.
Police said the man was staying at a Hamilton Parish guest home when he heard someone banging on his door at 7 a.m. Saturday.
When he went to investigate he saw an unknown man standing in his doorway with a bladed article.
The robber then forced his way into the room and demanded money.
The two men then struggled before the would-be thief ran off without any money.
The victim sustained superficial cuts to his head, back and lacerations to the fingers of his right hand as a result. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
The suspect is described as a brown-skinned male, approximately six feet tall of medium build and was clean shaven. He is believed to be in his 40s and was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans.
Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George's Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.
The incident was one of nine reported burglaries over the Remembrance Day weekend.
