The diary and cook book is the main fundraiser for the charity which prepares and delivers 200 meals a day Island-wide.

The charity was founded in 1975 to provide meals for those who were unable to cater for themselves. Serving 15 people initially, now more than 200 meals are delivered, four days a week, to homes and to the dialysis unit. About one third of meals are provided at no cost to the recipient. Meals on Wheels supplies meals to the elderly and infirm and maintains regular personal contact with the people concerned.

Last year's cookbook raised $20,000 for the charity.

Chairwoman Anne Powell said the cookbooks will be sold Island-wide for $15. It contains photography of Bermudian flora and fauna taken by Natalie Luthi and contains recipes using locally grown foods, from loquats to goat meat.

The recipes are Bermudian and include scalloped pawpaw, chicken curry and chutney, Bermudian tacos and stewed shark.
