Search for kayaker called off

Police have called off the search for a white male kayaker after no one had been reported missing. The white male, who is believed to be in his 20s, rented a kayak from Blue Hole Water Sports at 9 a.m. Monday and did not return at the end of the day.

A search by Police found the kayak pulled ashore on Cooper's Island with all of its gear. No white males have been reported missing since Sunday.

Blue Hole owner Micheal Stevens believes the kayaker got tired and didn't bother to return to their rental site. He called this "irresponsible" and said the company may require photo identification in the future.

Anyone with any information on the individual who rented the kayak or their whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Marine Police Unit on 299-4585 or the main Police number on 295-0011.
