Wishes came true for 'amazing' Kristi

A sick teenager saw her wishes granted when she was flown to Bermuda and given the chance to swim with dolphins.

With the help of the Fairmont Southampton Princess and the Make A Wish Foundation 18-year-old Kristi was flown to Bermuda and treated like royalty.

Kristi was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth, the birth defect effects the spinal chord and causes mobility problem to sufferers.

For years Kristi has had a poster of Bermuda in her bedroom and longed to have a chance to enjoy the picturesque beaches and swim with dolphins.

Her wish was granted by the foundation, who have worked with the Fairmont Southampton Princess since 2003.

She said: "When I made this wish I had no idea what to expect. The people at Fairmont have made me feel like a princess.

"Everybody has been so nice and thoughtful and I have gotten so many presents it feels like Christmas!

"Thank you so much Eugene, Elisha, Joi and everyone for making this the best week of my life."

Marketing director for the hotel, Shelley Meszoly, said the hotel rolled out the red carpet for Kristi's arrival. She said:"Our philosophy here at Fairmont is to turn moments into memories for our guests, and it's particularly rewarding when we have the privilege of hosting children from Make-A-Wish, especially an amazing young woman like Kristi."

The Make A Wish Foundation has been making dreams come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions since 1980.
