Santa Claus Parade to take place on Sunday
Gombeys and majorettes will entertain the crowds on Sunday at this year's Santa Claus Christmas parade on Front Street.
The fun starts at 5 p.m. and there is free candy for children attending. This year's event, organised by the MarketPlace, will feature Warwick United Majorettes, PHC Majorettes, Boulevard Blazerettes, Hamilton Parish Hot Peppers, PCC Majorettes, St. George Dancerettes, H&H Gombeys and Roots Gombeys.
The Bermuda Institute Steel Drum Band will also take part, along with Miss Teen Bermuda and Miss Big and Beautiful.
The floats set out from Par-la-Ville car park and turn onto Church Street, before heading along Par-la-Ville Road to Front Street and Court Street and returning to the park via Church Street.
Natalie Rego, from the MarketPlace, said: "Everyone is encouraged to turn out early to secure a prime viewing spot along Front Street.
"This fabulous annual event has been organised almost since its inception by the Bermuda Junior Chamber and for the last number of years it has been almost solely organised by Malika Watson and Chantal Dowling with them often paying some of the organising costs out of their own pockets.
"Without their tremendous efforts in the past this event may not have happened. Both Malika and Chantal have moved on in their careers and unfortunately because of business commitments no longer can afford the time to organise this great event. The MarketPlace Ltd. has stepped in to take over."
