Mr. timothy Marshall, who spoke on Miss. Wilson's behalf, said she has maintained an excellent record during the past year at Marshall and Company law firm.
In 1985, Miss Wilson received a bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois. And she worked as a counsellor at Whitney Institute for the next five years.
A year late, Miss Wilson received a Masters in education with a specialty in counselling from the University of Indiana.
She then completed her LLB with honours in 1993 at the University of London.
Last year, Miss Wilson completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London.
She currently handles litigation for Marshall and Company.
And yesterday Mr. Marshall said Miss Wilson used her free time for the "betterment of Bermuda''.
She was involved with Amnesty International, Fair Haven, and Beyond the Barriers, he noted.
Miss Wilson in turn thanked her relatives and friends who had supported her and "believed in the power of prayer'' throughout her four years of law school.
She also thanked her grandfather, who was not at the ceremony, for encouraging her to go to law school.
Miss Wilson said her grandfather told her to forget obstacles and to take a step in faith .'' President of the Bermuda Bar Association Miss Elizabeth Jones welcomed Miss Wilson on behalf of the Association.
Progressive Labour Party MP and veteran lawyer Mrs. Lois Brown Evans, who is a relative of Miss Wilson, said she had watched the young lawyer progress since she started school.
"Bermuda will remember this name and be very proud of her,'' Mrs. Brown-Evans said.
Chief Justice the Hon. Austin Ward welcomed Miss Wilson to the Bar and wished her well.
