Last night Hurricane Alberto was still 1,886 nautical miles east-southeast of Bermuda, but it was travelling in a west-northwest direction at ten knots.
Its maximum sustained winds were at 75 knots with gusts to 90 knots and weather forecasters' longest range predictions of 72 hours place the hurricane 1,088 nautical miles southeast of the Island on Wednesday afternoon.
Alberto was given category one storm status early yesterday. It is not a threat at this time.
