Forty-three-year-old Brian Rogers, of 33 Cottage Hill Road, was charged with a single count of armed robbery before Senior Magistrate Will Francis. He was not required to enter a plea as the charge is indictable.

It is alleged that while being armed with a knife, Rogers, on the afternoon of April 7, robbed a clerk at the Hamilton Parish grocery store of $513, Crown counsel Leighton Rochester told the court.

Rogers, who was not represented, offered no reply. Mr. Francis ordered he be released on $2,500 bail -- with like surety -- and told him to steer clear of the Enterprise Grocery and the victim.
