Government House Registrar Paul Dryden told The Royal Gazette the Deputy Governor's office has received about five applications for the Attorney General post which will be vacated by Barbadian Elliott Mottley this month.
And while Mr. Dryden could not say who the applicants were, he did confirm that a couple were Bermudian.
He said the office had also received other general telephone inquiries about the post which comes with $117,000-a-year salary and a house.
A closing date for applications has not yet been set, but Mr. Dryden said he expected that Bermuda will have a new Attorney General by the end of July.
