Bermuda suffers a violent weekend

A woman was sexually assaulted, a man hit over the head with a baseball bat and a man stabbed in the worst of the incidents between Friday and Sunday.
Police reported a total of seven violent incidents. In most cases the offender was known to the victim and will be appearing in court today.
On Saturday a 22-year-old motorcyclist was stabbed by another rider on Middle Road in Devonshire.
Police Community Relations Officer, Sgt. John Dale said: "The man was riding along Middle Road near to its junction with Orange Valley Road when another motorcyclist pulled up alongside him.
"He tried to push him off his bike. The victim stopped near Tee Street. It was only then that he discovered he had been stabbed in the stomach.'' Police are seeking witnesses especially a car driver who failed to stop when the victim tried to flag him down for help. Anyone who can help can call Det.

Few details were available about the sexual assault on a 35-year-old woman but it was one of a number of attacks on women.
On Friday night a Warwick woman was was grabbed and beaten while another woman was kicked off her motorcycle on Devon Spring Road, Devonshire.
An altercation on Friday night led to a woman having a car radio thrown at her by an old boyfriend. Sgt. Dale said: "It hit her and caused an injury.'' Police officers in Hamilton came across a man on Sunday morning who was suffering a head injury after being hit by a baseball bat.
Yesterday a 22-years-old Sandys man was taken to hospital after suffering a neck injury during an argument with another man on the Railway Trail.
