Bike crash victim in critical condition

Mr. John Brown, 70, was riding a white Suzuki livery cycle with Ms Louise Brown, when he lost control and struck a sidewalk. Mr. Brown suffered head and suspected neck injuries and was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Last night Mr. Brown, a passenger on board the Meridian , was said to be in a critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Ms Brown was not injured in the accident which happened at 5.15 p.m. on Wednesday at the junction of Somerset Road and Cambridge Road, Sandys Parish.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident and Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with any information should contact P.c. Stephen Ebbin at Somerset Police Station, telephone 234 1010.
Police are also appealing for witnesses to an accident in which a two-year-old girl was slightly hurt.
At 3.25 p.m. on Saturday, a taxi collided with a bike at the junction of North Shore Road and Summit View Drive in Hamilton Parish.
The girl, a pillion passenger, received a swelling to her head and abrasions.
No-one else was injured.
Police in particular want to speak to a woman who stopped at the scene of the crash to help. Witnesses should contact P.c. Roosevelt Maronie at 297-1122 or 293-1940.
