Budget will dominate session
with the Budget Speech taking up most of the time into the early afternoon.
Finance Minister Eugene Cox will deliver the Government's plans for the upcoming financial year, his third.
There will not be any debate on the Budget with the Opposition scheduled to give its response next Friday after which the House will begin to discuss the individual ministries.
Yesterday Government Whip Ottiwell Simmons joked: "My guess is that it won't go that long and certainly not into the night as most members will want to be at the Bermuda versus Jamaica game tomorrow night.'' On the Orders of the Day is legislation on a lease for a tiny plot of land on Admiralty House Park to BELCO for 21 years at $25,000 with a goodwill payment of $100,000 and a supplementary estimate for last year's budget.
Also on the list but likely to be held over are three Take Note motions.
Discussions on the Commission of Inquiry into Serious Criminal Offences, the state of tourism and the "sound rationale'' for a Tourism Authority, and proposed rule changes limiting speech lenght have been tabled for this session.
