Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said a 48-year-old Hamilton Parish man was arrested in connection with the assault that is alleged to have occurred last Friday as both men attended a meeting at St. Paul's Church Hall.

Mr. Burland received first degree burns to his face and upper left arm as a result of the attack.

Police were called to a South Shore hotel to escort some unruly graduates from the premises.

Mrs. James Barnett said Police went to Sonesta Beach Hotel to help escort some unruly teenagers from the building.

Following a school graduation, several students spent the night as a gift from family members but they were joined by other students who were not suppose to be there.

During the course of the evening, the teens disturbed other hotel guest who called hotel security.

Mrs. James Barnett said the unregistered guests were asked to leave and all was reportedly quiet when the Police left.
