Burning cycles damage property
from one smashed through glass doors and ignited curtains.
Police and Fire officials are investigating the East Avenue, Southampton incident which occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
The apartment's resident told Police she was in bed when she noticed a burning cycle parked outside her apartment.
Before she was able to investigate further the cycle exploded and destroyed her sliding glass door.
The fire then spread to her curtains and throughout the apartment.
She escaped unharmed through a bathroom window and was able to extinguish the flames with a garden water hose.
The apartment suffered extensive heat and smoke damage.
And the cycles, one rental and one privately owned, were totally destroyed.
Police later searched a 35-year old Warwick's man's home in connection with the incident.
