The man was charged with seriously sexually assaulting a woman on August 12 with the use of a weapon which caused bodily harm and unlawfully detaining the same woman against her will.

The man, who was not represented in court, was also charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 14 between August 1992 and April 1993, and unlawful carnal knowledge of the same girl under the age of 16 and above the age of 14 between April 1993 to May 1994.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Edward King set bail at $1,500 with a like surety.

Mr. King ordered the man not to contact the complainants. And he ordered him to surrender all his travel documents and to report to Somerset Police Station every Monday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
