The St. George's Preparatory School on Queen Street has been granted planning permission to change to two residential units with the addition of two dwelling units for a total of four units.

However, St. George's Preparatory School principal, Mary Lodge explained that the school will not be converted to housing.

She said that a trust owns the building from which they operate as well as two buildings across the street, which are the buildings that will be converted.

One of the buildings is the former site of the Giving Tree Nursery School which had to close its doors last year after not being able to raise enough money to keep going.

The DAB has said that parking and manoeuvring spaces for four cars will need to be provided, as well as a communal garbage storage area.
