Stephen Gilbert Caisey, 44, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court.

Police Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Police went to Elliott Street and apprehended Caisey. A search revealed a lock-knife with traces of white powder on its blade.

Caisey was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station. The powder was tested and found to be cocaine, said Insp. Duffy.

Duty Counsel Mr. Tim Marshall told the court Caisey was having difficulties at the time of the offence. He was on drugs and living in an abandoned building.

But now, Mr. Marshall said, Caisey had a full-time job and was off drugs. He was now living with his sister and attending his local church.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge said the minimum fine he could impose was $300 as the offence involved cocaine.
