The misunderstanding ended with the 41-year-old Friswell's Road man receiving an additional driving ban of 18 months after he pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while disqualified.

Police Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said White was serving a one-year disqualification when he was stopped by Police. The ban was in effect until May 13, 1993.

White was driving south on Court Street at 5.30 p.m. when he was stopped by a Police officer, who discovered he was serving the 12-month disqualification.

White told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that he thought the ban did not apply to the auxiliary cycle which he bought after his disqualification to continue driving.

Mr. Francis imposed another ban that will be in effect until November 13, 1994, and fined White $300.
