Only one hotel, Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort, stated it had received a lot of interest in their one-night Valentine's Day special offer.

"We've had a really good response,'' a spokesperson said of the hotel's $245 package. The offer can be taken advantage of on any of the three nights this weekend and includes breakfast, dinner and champagne and strawberries in the guests' rooms.

The Southampton Princess reported a mediocre response to its Valentine offer with 35 rooms reserved for this weekend.

"The response hasn't been too great because a lot of the other hotels are running events this weekend, but it hasn't been too bad either,'' was the verdict from the hotel's Reservations Department.

Ariel Sands, which is running a special Valentine's offer for the first time this year, said few people had planned a romantic getaway at the Devonshire resort.

And a spokesman for the Hamilton Princess stated only four reservations for its $150 package had been taken so far.
