Court fight mongrel seeks new home
a new home.
Dahl, a six-year-old German Shepard-Akita cross, has remained at the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) shelter on Valley Road, Paget since Christmas.
The dog and his former companion, Redeem, drove neighbours in three parishes barking mad with their night-time noise over a period of four years.
Magistrate Edward King slapped the two dogs with a death sentence last year, but the dogs were later given a new leash on life at the SPCA.
And while Redeem was adopted in February, Dahl remains in the dog house.
In an earlier interview with The Royal Gazette, SPCA President Joanne MacPhee said that Dahl has been less fortunate as "he is a lot more timid and needs special, tender loving care''.
The SPCA has a "no kill'' policy, ensuring that Dahl will not be put to sleep.
"If someone gave this dog a chance I feel they would be very happy with him,'' said SPCA Inspector Louis Ray.
