Cruise for senior citizens postponed
yesterday's inclement weather.
And the bad weather also affected the morning ferry service from Hamilton to Somerset.
Rain, thunderstorms and gusting winds caught a lot of people by surprise after weeks of sunshine.
The senior citizens' cruise was organised by the Department of Community Affairs. It has been postponed until September 2 and will leave Albuoy's Point at 4.30 p.m.
Director of Community and Cultural Affairs Mr. Lowdru Robinson expressed his gratitude to Bermuda Island Cruises, who have donated the use of their boats free of charge, for confirming the change of date so quickly.
A second in the series of cruises for senior citizens, scheduled for August 26, is not affected by the arrangements.
The Somerset ferry was cancelled during the morning but resumed again during the afternoon when the weather improved.
Forecasters predict an improvement this afternoon.
