The accident, involving a cyclist, happened just before 8 p.m. on Middle Road in Warwick near the Belmont golf course.

Police and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene to find the accident victim lying unconscious in the middle of the road. He is believed to have regained consciousness shortly after and, although the extent of his injuries is unclear, they are not thought to be life-threatening.
