David Carlington a six-month ban and a $300 fine.

Sgt. Wilburt McLean, prosecuting, told Magistrates' Court that Police saw Carlington driving at high speed on Crow Lane, cutting in front of other vehicles. One car had to mount the sidewalk to avoid a crash, he said, and at one point Carlington appeared to lose control.

When stopped Carlington told officers: "The best you can get me for is due care,'' the court heard.

Carlington, 31, admitted dangerous driving on May 23 but denied the Police story. He said there was only one other vehicle on the road.

"I had six people in the car with me. I don't think I would be driving at that sort of speed and driving in a dangerous manner with that amount of people in the car.''
