Reid Street during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

The area will be closed to traffic between 6 p.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays during the run up to the festive season to allow shoppers to get around easily.

Police issued tickets to vehicles left there last Friday and more will be issued to offenders this week.

Corporation of Hamilton Secretary Mr. Roger Sherratt said: "We would like to remind motorists that the whole of Number One Shed car park will be left open for free parking from 6-10 p.m.''
